We are excited to welcome to Adelaide: clarinet master craftsman and designer Morrie Backun (Founder - Backun Musical Services), and Backun Artist Andrew Seymour (Principal Clarinet - Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra)!
Internationally renowned as one of the most influential clarinet makers of our time, Morrie has reshaped modern clarinet design through innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and close collaboration with performers.
We will start with a Masterclass lead by Andrew Seymour, one of Australia's most respected and in-demand clarinettists. Performers in Andrew’s Masterclass are from the class of Lloyd Van't Hoff and we warmly invite you to attend this open session.
After the Masterclass, you will get the chance to meet Morrie Backun and ask him any questions that you might have. Morrie is eager to meet the Adelaide clarinet community and is always willing to share his insights and wealth of experience, built up over a lifetime as a performing artist and master craftsman.
Available for trial are the full range of Backun clarinets and accessories, including some very special, never before seen models! We will also be joined by the team from Presto Music, and Stuart Brownley from D’Daddario, who will have a range of exciting products for trial.
