Clarinet Mega Day 2026

We are thrilled to announce that Notus Winds will be attending the Clarinet Mega Day!

Come along for a full day of clarinet masterclasses, workshops, gear trials and discussion panels, finishing with a fantastic concert. Featuring an incredible lineup of Australia's leading clarinet performers and educators, this is not a day to be missed!

Join us for the chance to try some of the best clarinets and accessories from some of the world’s leading makers, including Backun, Uebel and Yamaha.

Workshop Bookings

We are lucky to have the fantastic clarinet and woodwind specialist technician Edison Castilho Jr. coming to this event, and he will be bringing his tools!

Appointment times for clarinet repair work are open to Mega Day Participants and will be 30min each

Quick fixes and basic repairs completed within this time will be $60-$120 (excluding parts). If work on your instrument will require more than 30min, we will take your details and book you in at a later date. Our next servicing dates are available from October 20th.

2026 NSW State Band Championships

We are thrilled to announce that Notus Winds and Flutes & Flutists are proudly supporting this year's NSW State Band Championships!

This year, we will be collaborating with Eastman Music Australia, Yamaha Music Australia and Diefes Brass Repairs to bring together a team of brass and woodwind experts. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore premium gear and get advice from actual performing musicians!

Visit us to try our full range of woodwind and brass instruments from some of the world’s leading makers. We will also have a variety of accessories available, including mouthpieces, barrels, headjoints, and ligatures - everything you need to enhance your playing! No registration is required, so feel free to drop by any time during the event.

We are excited to be attending the 2026 Adelaide Clarinet & Saxophone Festival!

The Adelaide Clarinet & Saxophone Festival is a two-day celebration of music, learning, and community, bringing together players of all ages and experience levels from across South Australia. Held at Elder Hall, the festival features inspiring concerts, hands-on workshops, masterclasses with leading artists, and a large-scale ensemble performance. Whether you’re a musician or music lover, join in for a vibrant weekend showcasing the clarinet and saxophone community!

Special guests include Nick Russoniello (NSW) and Diana Tolmie (QLD), alongside Dean Newcomb, Tim Clarkson, Vashti Tyrrell, Emma Gregan, Lloyd Van't Hoff, and Kate Mawson (SA).

Join Monash University for a day of wind playing and teacher professional development! The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance warmly invites high school students, tertiary wind players and wind enthusiasts of all ages and levels to participate in a day of collaboration, conversation and masterclasses with a great line-up of inspiring artists. 

There will be workshop activities for bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe, saxophone and recorder to help you develop new techniques, practise strategies and enhanced interpretations to prepare you for performance success! Music educators can connect with like-minded colleagues, while students benefit from feedback on VCE and AMEB repertoire, ensemble playing skills and insights from top performers and teachers. 

Flutes & Flutists and Notus Winds are excited to partner with Monash by providing our full range of instruments for organisers and participants to try! Internationally renowned as one of the most influential clarinet makers of our time, Morrie has reshaped modern clarinet design through innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and close collaboration with performers. 

To kick things off, Morrie will be discussing all things clarinet, including tuning, voicing, maintenance and the behind-the-scenes of engineering instruments and accessories. Morrie is eager to meet the Sydney clarinet community and will be sharing his insights and wealth of experience, built up over a lifetime as a performing artist and master craftsman.

This will be followed by a Masterclass led by David Griffiths, one of Australia's most respected and sought-after clarinet pedagogues. Participants in David Griffiths’ Masterclasses have been finalised and we warmly invite you to attend this open session.

Join legendary Australian clarinettists and Backun Artists Phil Green (Associate Principal Clarinet, Opera Australia Orchestra) and Andrew Seymour (Principal Clarinet, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra; D'Addario Artist) for a weekend of masterclasses, product demonstrations, performances and Q+As!

Eight masterclass participants will have the opportunity to work with Andrew or Phil on a variety of orchestral, opera and ballet excerpts—this is strictly limited so register your interest below! If participant spaces are full and you're still interested in learning from some of Australia's best, please register as an auditor and/or consider signing up for a one-on-one lesson with Andrew!
